There is a lot to know about recreating in avalanche terrain — even when you are in bounds at a resort. Our Avalanche Beacon Training Center, provided by Wasatch Backcountry Rescue, is established for all guests to practice with their own avalanche transceiver (beacon). It is located at the top of Headwall Forest, accessed by Summit Express chairlift and the SolBright trail.

Bring your beacon and your questions to ask our professional ski patrollers. Learn some basics of avalanche rescue and snow science, and hone your skills in navigating a rescue situation. Intermediate or better skiing/riding skills are required. There is no easy way down from the beacon park.
