Winter is Here! Club Solitude Updates & Special Event Invitations
Solitude Homeowners,
The snow is falling as I write this, the lifts are spinning, and winter is officially here! The resort is bustling with activity as guests begin to arrive. At Club Solitude, we’re diligently working to complete the men’s bathroom remodel to ensure we can accommodate everyone this season. The tiling is finished, and all that remains is painting and reassembling. Our goal is to have the men’s bathroom reopened by Thanksgiving. With construction traffic wrapping up, our pool hours will return to normal: 12 PM - 9 PM daily (starting tomorrow).
I apologize for the length of this email (there’s so much to update you on!), but I encourage you to read through as it contains important information.
Bathroom Updates
The women’s bathroom should be ready to open by next week. It has been used as temporary storage for the contractors but is scheduled for a thorough deep clean by our housekeeping team to ensure it’s guest-ready. Please note that the men's bathroom will still be closed, so plan accordingly.
Club Closure Notice (10/21)
The Club will be closed next Thursday for wood floor refinishing. During this time, key issuance will be available at the Solitude Resort Lodging front desk. I’ll be available in my office (located in the back of Solitude Resort Lodging) from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM to assist with key cards on those days. Outside of those hours, Solitude Resort Lodging will issue 24-hour temporary keys.
Please note that hot tubs and the pool will remain closed during this time. We will reopen on Friday as usual.
Special Event: Indigenous Perspectives Talk (Lunch & Learn)
Amber has asked me to invite all homeowners to a special event next week. The Former Chairman of the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation will be presenting on teaching and preserving indigenous perspectives. This event is open to Solitude employees and homeowners, and lunch will be provided!
Date: November 18
Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Location: Last Chance Lodge
Please see the attached flyer for more details.
Save the Date: Homeowner’s Holiday Dinner Party
When: Friday, December 13, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: Last Chance Lodge
Celebrate the season with an evening of delicious food, festive games with prizes, and activities for the whole family! Highlights include:
Dinner featuring delightful meal from Solitude’s Food & Beverage team
A cash bar for alcoholic beverages
Complimentary coffee and hot cocoa
A decadent cheesecake dessert
Kid-friendly activities
This event is exclusively for Solitude homeowners and their families—please refrain from inviting friends. Keep an eye out for an RSVP email with more details coming soon!
Private Holiday Party Opportunities
If you’re looking to host your own holiday party for family, friends, or your workplace, Solitude is available for private events! For inquiries and pricing, please contact Dusten Steele at D.steele@solitudemountain.com.
Finally, I want to thank you for your patience and understanding during the Club men's bathroom remodel. We know these updates have impacted you and your guests, and we truly appreciate your support. We’re confident the improvements will enhance your experience, and we can’t wait to share them with you. We look forward to seeing you all in the Club or out on the slopes this winter.
Best,
Natalie Mollan
BCC One-Lane Traffic — Oct 15-17
UPCOMING WORK
As early as Tuesday, Oct. 15, crews will begin paving SR-190 between the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and the Dogwood Picnic Area (MP 1–3). During this time, drivers can expect one-way alternating traffic controlled by flaggers and pilot cars. Please plan ahead when traveling through the canyon, as you can expect up to 15-minute delays.
This work is anticipated to be completed in two days.
As early as Thursday, Oct. 17, crews will begin the final work on the utility manhole covers throughout the project area. Please note that following this work, construction crews may still be present, and flagging operations will be used as needed as crews complete any remaining tasks for the final phase of construction.
This work is anticipated to be completed by the end of October.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is repaving SR-190, between the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon (Butlerville Segment) and Mineral Fork Trailhead (MP 1-8), and Guardsman Pass Road, between the Winter Gate and the Pass Overlook. This project will enhance safety and create a smoother ride for drivers, bikers, and all individuals traveling through Big Cottonwood Canyon.
Open Amenities During Shoulder Season 2024
Solitude Homeowners,
The Summer 2024 season has officially come to a close at Solitude. It was a great summer, but now it's time for the resort to gear up for winter! While there's no snow in the forecast yet, let's all hope for some early flurries!
Although the mountain is currently closed, Solitude is working to keep a few food options available during the shoulder season. Stone Haus Pizza is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Additionally, the Village Store will maintain its hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In other news, the men's bathroom remodel is progressing smoothly, with the demo phase finishing ahead of schedule. We are pleased to announce that the pool and hot tubs will be open this Friday (10/11) from 12:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. as no construction work will be taking place that day. Please keep in mind that there will be no bathroom facilities available at the Club during this time.
If I know in advance that construction will not be taking place on other days, I will update you. In the meantime, here is a reminder of our current hours:
Pool Hours:
Monday to Friday: 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: Noon to 9:00 p.m.
Club Desk and Inside Amenities:
Daily: Noon to 9:00 p.m.
Fitness Center:
Daily: 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The fall colors are sticking around, and I hope to see you at the Club or grabbing a slice at Stone Haus Pizza in the coming months. Many owners have shared that this is their favorite time to be up here, so I encourage you all to take advantage of the quiet and beautiful Solitude during this season.
Thank you, and think snow!

Men’s Bathroom Remodel
Dear Solitude Homeowners,
We are excited to inform you that starting on October 7, we will begin the much-anticipated remodel of the Club Men's Bathroom. This renovation will address the puddling issue in the Men's Bathroom and will include replacing all the tiles (except for those in the sauna), painting the walls, and expanding the changing area by removing some lockers and a sink.
As mentioned in my previous email, this remodel will impact pool operations. Initially, I indicated that the pool would be closed during the repairs. However, after consulting with our County pool representative, I have good news! Although pool code requires us to provide showers for all users, there is an exception for residents who live within a certain distance of the pool. While not all units fall within the exact parameters, the county representative has confirmed that we're "close enough."
With that clarification, I'm happy to announce that the pool and hot tubs will remain open with modified hours during the remodel:
Monday to Friday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Weekends: Noon – 9:00 PM
Please note that this is subject to change without notice, we will do our best to stick with this, but as you know construction can be very unpredictable & challenging.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to improve the facilities.
Best regards,
Natalie Mollan

Bike Park Opening & Travel Alert
Dear Solitude Homeowners,
We are thrilled that the Solitude Bike Park is opening tomorrow (9/8)! As we gear up for the exciting opening weekend, we wanted to share some important information to help you prepare for an enjoyable experience.
Limited Bike Carriers on Moonbeam Express:
Please be aware that there will be limited bike carriers on the Moonbeam Express lift. Only every 6th chair will have a bike carrier. This will result in slower loading times and reduced carrier capacity compared to what we'll have next season. Our lift team is currently focused on upgrading the Eagle Express lift, which is why we have these limitations in place for now.
Temporary Connectors and Detours:
The technical trails Holy Schist (black) and Mine Shaft (blue) will start near the Roundhouse area and will be accessed from Moonbeam Express via temporary connector trails.
The lower section of Cobalt Cruise (blue freeride trail) will still be under construction. Riders will need to take a detour on Serenity to return to Moonbeam Express. The construction was delayed by a month due to record snowfall.
Please keep in mind that this is only Phase 1 of the new Gravity Logic trails. Our dedicated trail crew has made remarkable progress within a limited construction window, and we're excited to offer riders the opportunity to experience these new trails and get a preview of what to expect next summer.
Marathon in BCC on Saturday:
Please note that there will be a marathon event in Big Cottonwood Canyon (BCC) this Saturday. As a result, there will be partial closures of BCC from 6:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with police escorting vehicles up and down the canyon due to single-lane traffic. We anticipate traffic delays during this time, so we encourage everyone to plan their activities accordingly. For more detailed information about the closure, please refer to the attached document.
Solitude Homeowners Event on 9/9:
Event Schedule:
9:45 AM - 3:00 PM:
Ticket pickup (for those who signed up) : You can pick up your tickets Down in the Moonbeam Lawn. We will have a Canopy/ Table set up. Look out for the sign that says "Homeowners Hang out Area"
